There are two steps you must progress through before you'll be able to work paying jobs. These two steps are fairly easy to pass through, depending on your English skills, comprehension skills and the ability to follow the rules.
The two steps are:
1. Write a combination of ten posts and threads.
2. Study and comprehend the Rules and Guides and post that you've done so.
Let's expand on this a little:
1. In the appropriate area (the Show Your Stuff board), start making a combination of ten test posts AND threads. While writing, don't forget to pay attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure, as these are the things we grade on. Posts and threads must be at least 25 words but no more than 50. Posts or threads announcing your name or asking any questions do not count towards your test posts/threads.
2. When finished, post in the appropriate area that you're finished with your test posts/threads. Erika or myself will grade your test posts/threads based on spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. If we feel you would be an asset to Pro Forum Posters, we'll PM you. If you didn't pass the test posts/threads, we'll email you. If you didn't pass, you can reapply in 90 days.
3. Once you get your PM, begin studying the Rules and Guides. Afterwards, post in the appropriate area that you have studied and comprehend the Rules and Guides. You're basically saying that you agree to the rules and will abide by them.
4. When we see that you have done this, you will be moved to the Writer-In-Training group and will be able to take and work any available jobs with a maximum of 5 jobs at any one time. Congratulations!
Once you've started taking jobs, please refer back to the rules for clarification if needed. If you still don't understand something about a job, ask a question in Job Chat. If you have a general question, post in the "Work and Job Related" category, in the "Work Chatter" board. We'd rather you ask questions rather than do something wrong that could cause you to receive a warning!
