I adore working from home. I have been working from home for the past four years, and I have been able to make a decent living to support my family.
I am looking to get back into writing, for a change of pace with my current phone job.

I have worked from home since 1998 and love it. I used to be an employee for a small rural water district but then started by own virtual assistance business with clients from all over the United States. I'm just now considering looking into working outside the home because my "baby" is turning 16 and I could use the medical insurance coverage.

I recently started looking into working from home. I have two small children so phone work is out of the question for me because of concern over noise. I am finding it very difficult to find legitimate work from home opportunities that are not phone related. Currently I have been looking into teaching English on-line to students in China and Taiwan to help pay the bills.

I'm relatively new to working from home, but I have to say I've enjoyed it. I was lucky to find opportunities that were legitimate, and have not run into any scams. I am however limited to non-phone work because of my little boy.

Working from home has recently become the most viable option job wise. My husband is in the military so the place we live is chosen for us. I also just became pregnant therefore finding work outside the home is proving difficult. There are scams everywhere online, but I am learning how to sort through them.

I have been working from home since 2007 and I love it! I have social anxiety and cannot work outside of the home so working from home has become a great thing for my husband and I.
I am a freelance writer. I used to do affiliate marketing but it didn't work out for me too well. I found a few websites that would pay me to write so I started doing that. I love writing!

I am one of the victims of the bad economy and have been looking for work for over a year now. I am 55, and yes there is age discrimination out there, as I can't even get a store to hire me now. I have been also trying to start working from home, but find the numerous scams to be overwhelming. I just spent two weeks trying to get employment with a certain Internet research company, but have found so many bad reviews about it, and have already experienced enough of it myself that I am giving up on this company.
I too love to write, but since I worked all of my career in the legal field, I am finding it hard to get started, since I have no real experience doing it. If anyone has any suggestions for me, I would greatly appreciate hearing them

Hi samidean. I'm sure you will soon find a good online job. I'm myself new to looking for work at home opportunities, but I have read in several WAH websites about textbroker (google it for the complete address). They don't require experience to start writing for them. Good luck!

Being able to work from home had been a godsend, giving me a chance to take care of my Mother and also maintain a working environment is precious to me right now. I have been fortunate to have been able to pick up some great projects.

I love working from home as well. I do it along with another job, but working from home is a nice way to earn extra income. I currently freelance write and also run my own blog. Both have provided me the ability to earn some extra money on the side while doing what I love.

I have been working from home doing various things for the past few years. I have to admit, for a couple of years I was making way more with my online job than I am with the out of the home job I gave it up for (after school teacher). However, with my major being in Education, I figured it would be beneficial for me to take a job in my field instead of continuing to work full time online in an unrelated field. I am recently starting my search again into part time online work, but it's definitely not easy! I wish good luck to everyone!

I have also worked from home, I have found some amazing opportunities and have seen many scams. Over the years I have gained much experience and have learned many things. Working from home is great, but you must be disciplined. Good luck to you all.

I did my time in Corporate American. I could never go back. I've been working from home off and on since around 2000. Started freelance writing in 2005. Exclusively at home since 2007. I can't think of my life being any other way.

I began working from home about two years ago. I like many others found myself a victim of massive layoffs and needed to make up the loss of income. I had hopes of starting my own business doing something I love, but began writing just to pay the bills. I was excited to realize I liked writing short articles and posting in forums. I still want to eventually do something on my own, but realize I need several eggs as a safety net.

I can't think of my life being any other way. I agree with you, I could not imagine going back to business suits and long hours. I missed so much at home with my family, now I can be there when I am needed, and not worry if it will cost me my job. I hated asking permission to be a parent. At least that is how it felt when I needed to leave for a school play or stay home with a sick child.

Finding the perfect balance between work and life has been a challenge, but I finally figured it out. Working from home is no picnic. I know many who walk in to the freelance field thinking it's going to be a cakewalk and they get frustrated before they even finish their first week. It's not easy and their will be sacrifices and adjustments along the way. However, those cons outweighed my pros and I will never look back no matter how hard it gets.

I've "seen" you around I have the same problem with the social anxiety. Throw on their depression, migraines, disk disease, degenerative arthritis, PTSD and panic attacks and its a recipe for disaster. I don't even bother dealing with looking for work outside the home. Its not worth the stress it causes me.

I've been the office support for my husband's business for years, and I've done some freelance writing in the past couple of years. Currently, I sell books on Amazon and do a little ebay'ing too, but writing is where my heart is.

I have been working from home since 2005, and I love it. I enjoy being with my children. I like the flexibility to do what I need to do with my family, and still earn money. With the job market like it is, working from home is a viable enterprise.

I agree with the sentiments about working from home being surprisingly challenging. It has been a blessing for my family that I have (slowly) begun a freelance career, but the struggle to find balance continues daily.

I started working at home because I have a disabled child. It was hard to keep an outside job because of his many appointments and hospital stays. I stopped for a few years due to his health but now am eager to get back at it.

I've been doing work at home for the last 2 years. The first online job I got was a general researcher for a call center industry. At first, the pay was good and the working hours is flexible but the company's policy changed later on cutting employees by half.

I used to sell cosmetics from home. I would get orders on the phone and will deliver the products to my customers myself. But then I got so busy that I neglected my family and in the end, I thought the money wasn't worth the sacrifice I had to make so I quit. Now, I only work online and only when I'm free.

I have been working from home 3 years and I adore it! I can go to work in my PJ's. I enjoy the flexibility. I enjoy being able to be home with my teenagers when they arrive home from school and making sure they are completing homework and doing what they need to do in order to continue to be successful in school.

I have been working from home off and on for over 5 years. I do love it but I always seem to go back and work on site contracting for local companies. I believe it is because I like being around people and getting out of the house.

Next week will be my first official week working at home. I am very excited to be starting a new journey. I'm also happy that I will be able to sleep in longer, wear whatever I want, and I won't have the long drive to work anymore.
