I have noticed a large increase in the number of people who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I am wondering if this is due to more knowledge about it or maybe just due to the increase in obesity in the country.

The more you sleep the lesser your caloric consumption will be. That is one of the reasons why obesity is hard to overcome. A change in lifestyle is needed.

After doing a little research, I found that obesity is, in fact, a cause of sleep apnea. The decrease of sleep apnea is one of the many benefits of initiating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I agree. A change in lifestyle is the first step to overcome obesity; weight loss is only one of the many benefits of eating healthily, sleeping well, and sustaining a regular workout regimen.
